PowerCo SE and Volkswagen (VW) will construct a new North American MEGA facility to produce EV batteries in St. Thomas, Ontario, located halfway between Toronto and Detroit. PowerCo SE and Volkswagen (VW) announced their commitment in March 2023 with plans to be in production by late 2027 or early 2028.
The facility will occupy roughly 550 acres of industrial-zoned land. This ground-breaking, first-of-its-kind investment is expected to have a significant positive impact on Ontario's economy and the local St. Thomas economy.
